Trunk or treats and commercial district trick or treat evenings offer families an alternative to traditional neighborhood events.

It’s time for trunk or treat, a Halloween alternative to the quintessentially American ritual of door-to-door candy collecting. Kids go in costume from car to car or shop to shop for candy and other treats. For parents, it’s a safe and easy alternative to trick-or-treating in neighborhoods. Cars and shops are often decorated in fun ways, and kids can enjoy all the delights of getting candy within a safe environment. Here are some upcoming public events:
Thursday, October 24, 5–7 p.m.
Suncrest Towne Centre Trick or Treat
Suncrest Towne Centre
Dress up the whole family and head out for tricks and treats at participating stores in Suncrest Towne Centre. This event is free and open to the public.
Friday, October 25, 6–8 p.m.
Children’s Home Society Trunk or Treat
Children’s Home Society, 11 Commerce Drive
Cars will be parked outside of the Children’s Home Society building near the Big Lots parking lot in Westover. This event is free to the public.
Saturday, October 26, 1:30–3:30 p.m.
Champion Training Academy Trunk or Treat
Champion Training Academy, 930 Parkway Drive
Located just off of Dorsey Avenue, this afternoon event includes a bounce house, games, food trucks, rope swings, dancing, and giveaways. The event is free to the public.
tuesday, October 29, 5:30–7:30 p.m.
Monongalia county health department truck or treat
Mon County Health Department, 453 Van Voorhis Road
Stop by for treats—including toothbrushes.
Wednesday, October 30, 5–7 p.m.
Downtown Trick-or-Treat
Halloween looks pretty spooky in historic downtown Morgantown. Come trick-or-treat in local business, many of which are offering merchant discounts.
