September and October are the sweet spot for fun things to do around town! Here’s a round-up for this weekend.

Thursday, September 17

Bells Across America / Constitution Day

Monongalia County Courthouse, 4 p.m.
Each year, the Daughters of the American Revolution sponsors Bells Across America, an event to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787, and the Philadelphia church bells that were rung at 4 p.m. to mark the event.

Friday–Saturday, September 18–19

BEE FAIR and Honey Show

Mylan Park / Monongalia County Center
Friday 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
In addition to beekeeper education and networking, the West Virginia Beekeepers Association’s annual BEE FAIR opens its Honey Shoppe and bee beard demonstrations to the public.

Saturday, September 19

West Virginia Fiber Festival Vendor Marketplace

Mylan Park / Monongalia County Center, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
At the vendor marketplace on day two of the West Virginia Fiber Festival, you’ll find raw fleece, hand-dyed fibers, small-batch yarns, knitted and felted items, and many more local, artisanal treats for the fiber enthusiast. Free and open to the public.

Scott’s Run Street Fair

Osage, 10 a.m.–dusk
Food vendors, live music, a parade, and more celebrate the history and diversity of Osage at this annual fair. Don’t skip a tour of the Scott’s Run Museum—there’s more to this community than you know.

WV Pawpaw Festival

WVU Core Arboretum, noon–5 p.m.
Sample and buy pawpaws, enjoy pawpaw-based dishes by Chef Marion Ohlinger, and learn from a pawpaw expert—you’ll come away from this festival with a deeper appreciation for this region’s own native tropical fruit.

Moonlight Market

Spruce Street Market Place Pavilion, 4–9 p.m.
Support local makers and get a start on your holiday shopping at the September Moonlight Market—then grab dinner downtown to make an evening of it.

WVU vs. Virginia @ Charlotte

ACC Network, 7:30 p.m.
Cheer the Mountaineers on against the Cavaliers!

Saturday and Sunday, September 19–20

West Virginia Wine & Jazz Festival

Ruby Amphitheater
A many-time winner for Best of Morgantown Best Festival, the Wine & Jazz Festival features artisan vendors, wine tastings, food trucks, and, of course, live jazz. $25 per day in advance, $30 at the gate.

Sunday, September 20

WV Vintage Fest

Mylan Park/Monongalia County Center, noon–6 p.m.
Add some retro flair to your fall wardrobe at the WV Vintage Fest—and if you can’t make it this Sunday, mark your calendar for October 25 and November 28.
