Spruce up your look with some fresh finds from the WV Vintage Fest.
Looking to refresh your spring wardrobe with a bit of vintage flair? Stop by the WV Vintage Fest, where Morgantown’s own Gallery 304, along with 20 other vendors from across the region, will showcase the uniquely curated vintage clothing they have for sale. This event will be held from noon to 8 p.m. this Sunday, March 6, at the newly renovated Hotel Morgan on High Street.
The vintage apparel for sale will be as diverse as the vendors themselves, according to event organizer and Gallery 304 shop owner Nate Hart. “There’ll be vendors from a few different states,” Hart says, “and you never really know what they’re going to have for sale or what they’ve found or brought specifically for this event.” Some vendors specialize in particular types of vintage clothing, such as menswear, and some are thriftier than others, Hart says.
Some vendors, like Gallery 304 itself, might also offer a small selection of modern designer apparel and sneakers. Many folks pair these items with vintage pieces to create a look that is even more one-of-a-kind. “One cool thing about this variety,” Hart says, “is that there’s going to be something for everybody at this event.”
Hart organized a similar event last fall that drew in a pretty big crowd. Most of the vendors that participated in that event will also participate in the upcoming Vintage Fest. “I actually wanted to invite more vendors,” Hart says, “but, since it’s an indoor event, unlike the previous one, space is limited. I didn’t want it to get too crowded.”
An indoor venue has some limitations during a pandemic, but what better place to host the WV Vintage Fest than Morgantown’s historic Hotel Morgan? Not only is it conveniently located right down the street from the Gallery 304 shop, but its appropriately “vintage-y vibe,” as Hart describes it, will provide the perfect type of atmosphere for this event.
