Bookworm Effects pedals help you rock like a pro.

Band kids and bookworms unite! Bookworm Effects, a Morgantown-based guitar pedal company, is known for its unique pedals based on beloved book characters.
Owner Brian Spragg taught himself to make pedals, and he makes the most creative pedals in the area. After each pedal is named after a literary work or writer based on its unique sound, he employs artists—almost all West Virginians—to bring the characters to life.
Some of his favorites are the “Atticus Finch” overdrive, named after the protagonist in To Kill a Mockingbird, and the “Seth’s Fuzz,” after Karen Russell’s Swamplandia. He gives the artists design freedom. “There’s never a right or a wrong way. Sometimes I just give the artists free range.”
Spragg says his pedals enhance sound and take guitar-strumming, bass-playing, and even singing to the next level. “They can help with creativity, because it’s like more colors to paint with.”
Buyers give Bookworm Effects glowing reviews on the online instrument and gear marketplace Reverb, for both service and build quality. Check out Spragg’s pages there to browse all of the available pedals. Or, if you’re lucky, there may be one or two in stock at Micarelli Modern Music in Uniontown.
