Have an evening of sports-themed fun and support cancer research and more at the Bob Huggins Fish Fry January 30.

If you’re a past fan of the entertainment-packed fundraiser known as the Bob Huggins Fish Fry, you’ll be happy to know that it’s back—the 14th annual Fish Fry takes place on January 30. If you’ve never attended, get your tickets, because it’s a scene.
The Bob Huggins Fish Fry is a three-ring circus of live music, silent and live auctions, and a buffet-style meal catered by Boston Beanery. Music this year will be provided by West Virginia’s own singer–songwriter–fiddlemaster Philip Bowen.
For sports fans, the highlight of the Fish Fry is the dinner show. This year’s show features former pro football player Merril Hoge, known to many for his football analysis on ESPN, and Clark Kellogg, the one-time Indiana Pacer turned TV basketball analyst who was named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in September 2025. Emcee for the evening will be Amanda Mazey, a familiar figure reporting on WVU football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball.
Since it was established in 2011, the Fish Fry has raised many millions of dollars for charitable causes, primarily cancer research. Proceeds from this year’s event benefit the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Endowment, Vandalia Health, and the Remember the Miners Scholars Program.
Doors at the Hazel & J.W. Ruby Community Center at Mylan Park open at 5:30 p.m. Fundraiser tickets may be purchased online starting at $150, $50 for students.
