Looking for interesting ways to get moving that are more fun than the neighborhood gym?
Anyone up for a new fitness adventure in Morgantown should try out one of these unique ways to burn calories.
Climbing
Get your flow on at Gritstone Climbing + Fitness. There are plenty of rock walls to climb, and the facility offers unique fitness classes too.
Boxing
Learn a mean right hook and burn calories, too, at the Mountaineer Boxing Academy. The world-class coaches here will make you feel right at home.
Martial Arts
Challenge yourself with mixed martial arts classes. Morgantown has plenty of dojos to choose from—like the American Judo-Hapkido Institute, Ground Zero Fighting Systems, or USA Martial Arts of Morgantown.
Swimming
Lap swimming is great exercise, one of the best even for calorie burn while still being low-impact on your body. Just jump in with a membership at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park. Sign up by January 31, 2022, to try out all of the pool services, including the dive pool, fitness center, free yoga, and more, for 30 days for just $30.
Bouncing
Finally, the local trampoline park isn’t just for kids. “Bounce and burn”’ at Launch Pad in Westover offers one-hour, perfect-for-all-levels fitness classes that combine cardio, strength building, and plyometrics for a unique workout. You can find out more here, and walk-ins are welcome for classes held on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings.
