He only lived there a short time.
This beautiful brick home on Wagner Road in Chancery Hill was built in 1914. The home’s first resident was George F. Wells.
Wells was an 1895 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and formed the firm of Huntsberger & Wells in Toledo, Ohio. Wells then moved to Morgantown and served as a professor at the WVU College of Law before eventually spending time as the acting dean.

Wells then became the dean at the University of North Dakota School of Law, where he only spent a few years before accepting an appointment as an official of the War Labor Board in World War I.
