WVU’s Career Closet is helping Mountaineer career hopefuls dress the part.

If the change of seasons has you making room in your closet, consider a donation to the WVU Davis College Success Center. The Center’s Career Closet is taking professional clothing donations, and they want what you’ve got.
As undergraduates at WVU’s Davis College, Mallory Napolillo and some fellow students raised money with a mission: to create a space that would help students prepare for careers and other professional experiences. After she graduated, though, Napolillo realized that the project hadn’t been completed. Now a career development specialist at the Davis College, she has finally brought her long-standing goal to life.
The Davis College Career Closet and Interview Room officially opened its doors in fall 2025. The main goal of the closet is to break down barriers for students’ professional success at WVU, and it’s open to all Morgantown campuses.
A student in need of professional attire doesn’t have to have a specific event coming up to get an outfit. When they visit, they can choose and keep an outfit they like. There are also private rooms that students can use to complete virtual job interviews. Students can schedule a 15-minute clothing appointment or a 1-hour interview appointment through WVU’s Navigate platform.
The clothes students take from the closet allow students to look and feel more confident, Napolillo says. Closet staff have seen students at career fairs and other on-campus events wearing their new clothes.
If you are looking to do a closet cleanout, the Career Closet’s biggest needs are clothing in mid-range sizes and men’s shoes. Donations can be left at the Davis College Success Center, on the ground floor of the Agricultural Sciences building. The center is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.–9 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
