The larger-than-life DJs at WKKW have a flair for fun. 97.9 WKKW is a mainstream country radio station that plays both current and throwback hits. It has some of the best talent and programming in the region, recognized often by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association.

But WKKW is first and foremost a community radio station. In most years, it gives away thousands of dollars of concert tickets; during the pandemic, it has DJ’d food drives and participated in recognitions for emergency responders.
