Established by Marvin Hughart in 1911, Hughart’s Supply is the second oldest business still operating in Morgantown, as far as owner Gary Schlobohm has been able to figure out. Schlobohm’s father bought the business in 1974 and passed it to him in 1994. Hughart’s sells air conditioning, heating, and plumbing supplies at retail shop in the Wharf District and Sabraton and provides on-site HVAC and plumbing service through its Fixzit Man Crew—you’ve seen their service trucks around town. But it’s its plumbing service in particular that BOM voters recognized in this first year of BOM’s Best Plumber category. “We install water heaters, garbage disposals, and faucets, we fix leaky drain lines and toilets that are flushing slow,” Schlobohm says. “I’m blessed with a good, conscionable crew that shows up for work every day. We take a lot of pride in our work, and we do our darnedest to keep the water flowing.”
