Fireside s’mores, photos with Santa Claus himself, fresh Christmas trees, and more this weekend.

It’s officially December, and that can only mean one thing: Morgantown is alight with holiday spirit. The season isn’t just about snagging deals online—it’s about showing up for the people and places that make Morgantown great.
This weekend, visit these three holiday festivals, where you can pick out a locally grown Christmas tree, meet Rudolph the Red-nosed Miniature Pony, and support the construction of University High School’s new sports complex.
Mal’s Christmas Festival
Noon, Saturday, December 6
312 Old Cheat Road
Free admission
Mal’s Fresh Produce has transformed its hilltop market into a hometown holiday street fair packed with festive fun. Families can snap photos with Santa and his elves, write letters to the North Pole, and cheer on the community soup contest. Make progress on your Christmas shopping by browsing fresh Fraser fir trees, wreaths, garlands, and a lineup of local vendors.
Then warm up with a hot cocoa bar while you enjoy fire-spinning performances, carolers, cookies, a new mistletoe photo booth, and plenty of cozy outdoor vibes. Don’t forget to don your ugliest Christmas sweater.
Christmas on the Farm
Noon–4 p.m., Sunday, December 7
371 Opekiska Ridge Road, Fairmont
$10 donation per car

Just a short drive from Morgantown, On Eagles’ Wings invites visitors to step into a horse barn fully decked for the season. If you’ve ever wanted to see a miniature horse enthusiastically embrace the role of Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, now is your chance.
On Eagles’ Wings is a nonprofit known for changing the lives of children and adults who have disabilities, but this festival features more than horsing around—festive music, hot cocoa, kids’ activities, live Christmas carolers, raffle items, and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus await.
Winterfest 2025
5–8 p.m., Sunday, December 7
Teacher parking lot at University High School
Free admission

Cap off the weekend at University High School’s Winterfest 2025, a community celebration with a meaningful mission. From twinkling lights and an inflatable igloo to food trucks, market vendors, kids’ games, and fireside s’mores, the evening blends small-town magic with big-impact fundraising.
All proceeds support the planned $4 million Sports Complex at UHS: baseball and softball fields, locker rooms, concessions, and a tennis center that will serve students and the Morgantown community for decades.
Wherever you choose to celebrate, may your weekend be filled with bright lights, warm mugs, and plenty of hometown cheer.
