Dip your toes into Morgantown’s growing competitive diving scene and cheer future Olympians on at the Aquatic Center’s first international diving event.

The Peak Health Aquatic Center at Mylan Park is world-class impressive: 90,000 square feet. A 50-meter Olympic pool and diving well. A six-lane lap pool.
And from June 12 to 15, it will be the temporary home to rising Olympians from all around the world.
For the fourth time in three years, the Aquatic Center will host an Olympic qualifying event for USA Diving, the official diving organization for the U.S. Olympic Diving Team. This time, the stakes are global—around 100 athletes from the United States, Australia, China, Japan, Canada, and beyond will compete in Morgantown’s first international diving event.
Not just any facility can measure up to an Olympian. The Aquatic Center is one of the few indoor facilities in the country with a full Olympic-sized diving tower. By presenting prestigious events like this one, both the Aquatic Center and Morgantown gain a reputation among the world’s leading athletes—making it a contender for the 2028 U.S. Olympic Diving Trials.
“There are only a few facilities in the country that have played host to this type of event,” says Jennifer Lainhart, Director of Aquatics and Track at Mylan Park. “It’s an opportunity for international divers to see our facility and Morgantown, so hopefully they’ll want to come back and visit us in the future.”
Opened in 2019, the Aquatic Center originally had no diving teams. But the tide has turned in recent years with the addition of diving classes and clubs, and Lainhart anticipates continued growth. After watching the world’s elite athletes make a splash in June, you may find yourself caught in the rising tide of local diving.
