Turkey Trot

Nearly 1,000 people got out early last year to join the 5k Turkey Trot from the WVU Coliseum to the Seneca Center, organized each year by Morgantown Running. Kids’ fun run 8:30 a.m., 5k run/walk at 9 a.m., shuttle back to the starting point, and prizes. The trot benefits Girls on the Run of North Central West Virginia as well as other causes through the year.

Thursday, November 28 (plus travel time)
This is only the second time the WVU Mountaineers Marching Band has been invited to participate in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! On Thanksgiving, the parade will be broadcast live on NBC from 8:30 a.m. to noon and will stream on many services. But for the trip of a lifetime, you can join Westfall Travel Group and see the parade in New York in person. The Red Eye package bus trip leaves Wednesday, November 27, and returns on Friday the 29th.
Shop ’Til You Drop

Downtown pivots to holiday cheer with this annual Shop Local community event. Free cookies and cocoa with Santa, a vintage pop-up market, food vendors, live music, Shop Small giveaways at Courthouse Square, and more.
