Just 30 minutes outside of Morgantown is a charming boutique you need to check out.
Samantha Loy got her start in fashion when she opened an at-home clothing boutique in her basement, offering the women in her community fashionable and trendy pieces at her Graceful Glamour Boutique.
“I noticed that, when people would come in to try on clothes, it was just such a better experience,” she remembers. “So, I started looking for opportunities to rent in the area.” When the chance came to open a storefront in Masontown, she took it.
The inside of Graceful Glamour is as beautiful as the items it sells. Pops of soft pinks bring a feminine energy to the space, which blends rustic and modern elements. Affordable high-quality and in-season apparel can be found on the racks or artfully displayed on the tables, all chosen with a careful eye.
“I’ve always been interested in fashion, but more on the ‘comfortable mom’ side,” says Loy, a mother of three young girls. “Trendy, but still being cute and comfortable—just making women feel good and feel comfortable in their own skin.” Customers can find most items in sizes small through 3X, in styles, colors, and textures that are sure to elevate any wardrobe. New items come in every couple of weeks, says Loy, and a new collection is released each month. Popular picks such as Judy Blue jeans, White Birch, and Corkys Footwear can be found throughout the store, and a kids’ room offers a collection of darling outfits—and a few toys for the kiddos to enjoy while Mom shops.
Graceful Glamour’s wide selection makes it easy to build a complete outfit from head to toe. And Loy’s dedication to keeping that small-business charm and personal touch make what some may find to be a stressful activity fun and exciting instead. “Women get comfortable, and we sit and talk and have coffee. It’s definitely not a rush environment—we enjoy our time,” she says. “We love to help with matching outfits together or giving recommendations. If you need an outfit, we’ll pull stuff for you, kind of like a personal styling session. It’s nice to keep the shop small, for that reason. You get more personalized attention, and we love doing it.”
If you prefer online shopping, Loy hosts weekly live shows on Facebook to share current items with shoppers and answer questions about sizing and fit. It’s all a part of the boutique’s goal to leave its customers feeling their best. “We cater to women and to make women feel beautiful and confident—no matter what size, no matter what age.”
