They’re just not making grand downtown theaters anymore, and Morgantown is lucky to have one in the 1924 Metropolitan Theatre. Originally a popular vaudeville stage, the theater was lovingly restored in recent decades and now hosts everything from community theater performances to nationally touring music groups. We’re still waiting for someone to organize a Don Knotts festival so we can see The Ghost and Mr. Chicken on the big screen in his home theater. “Calm? Do ‘murder’ and ‘calm’ go together? Calm and murder? Murder?”
