The 2025 schedule for the WV Living Book Club is in.
The WV Living Book Club is eager for more great reads and great conversations. Bibliophiles throughout Morgantown—and across the country—come together to read and discuss books about West Virginia or written by West Virginian authors.
In 2024, readers devoured the legendary story of Doris Payne as told in her memoir Diamond Doris: The True Story of the World’s Most Notorious Jewel Thief. They dove into the West Virginia Mine Wars with author Taylor Brown and his work of historical fiction, Rednecks: A Novel. Finally, readers witnessed the struggles of poverty and the strength of hope through the eyes of Katherine Manley and her book Don’t Tell’em You’re Cold: A Memoir of Poverty and Resilience.
The new year brings more tales of the West Virginia spirit and experience to the table, starting with a book that celebrates the Mountain State’s tiny inhabitants. On March 20, 2025, WV Living Book Club—joined by artist and author Rosalie Haizlett—will discuss Tiny Worlds of the Appalachian Mountains: An Artist’s Journey, a stunning collection of artwork interwoven with stories and observations from Haizlett’s six-month excursion through the Appalachians. Haizlett will join readers at The F.A.R.M. in Granville for an evening appreciating the tinier things in life.
WV Living Book Club is flexible to your desired level of involvement, with options that allow you to participate in-person or virtually. Register for the upcoming club meeting—or all four—here.
