Celebrate the theater’s 25th anniversary with a longtime writer-director-actor’s debut anthology of darkness, drama, and comedy.

Be careful what you wish for—your plea for help just might be answered by a wrathful tiki god. At least, that’s the lesson learned in the opening act of The Other Side of Nowhere, the thrilling anthology show closing out M.T. Pockets Theatre Company’s 25th anniversary season.
Since 1999, Morgantown’s most creative minds have found their place as writers, actors, and directors at M.T. Pockets’ nonprofit, volunteer-led space. Written and directed by Sean Bonnette, a member of the theater from the very beginning, The Other Side of Nowhere is a fitting conclusion to this momentous season, says theater president Kaici Lore. “Toni Morris and Vickie Trickett created this theater so that we could be a place to showcase new works and support the community, and The Other Side of Nowhere is an absolute perfect example of going back to that original mission statement all those years ago.”
Inspired by anthology shows like The Twilight Zone, the play’s eight unique one-act stories feature aliens, apocalypse, death in the flesh, rogue technology, an audience-led adventure, and more. Together, they shape an eclectic experience of comedy and drama.
While some of the play’s stories have appeared in the M.T. Pockets’ annual 10-Minute Play Festival, this will be the first time the anthology has been produced in its entirety—so don’t miss this debut decades in the making.
The Other Side of Nowhere will hit the stage at 8 p.m. on November 1 and 2 and November 7 through 10 at M.T. Pockets’ theater at 203 Parsons Street in Woodburn. Tickets are $17.50 in advance online or $20 at the door.
Thematic subjects like death make this an “After Dark” production exclusive to adult audiences.
Also, mark your calendar for December 3, when M.T. Pockets will announce its 2025 season lineup—something the theater is proud to anticipate, thanks to support from all facets of the community, says Lore. “It is because of the dedication of people like Sean that we’re able to go into the 26th season and then plan for the 27th.”
