Best Community Champion

Roark Sizemore

Voted best community champion in morgantown in 2021

Roark Sizemore has done so much to help his community in a very short time. He’s currently the 23-year-old president of the board for Pantry Plus More, a nonprofit he founded with his mentor— former high school guidance counselor and current Mon County Commission
President Tom Bloom. The pair started the pantry when Sizemore was a senior at Morgantown High School. Their efforts initially provided in-school pantries stocked with non- perishable foods, toiletry items, school supplies, and clothing for students to take as needed, all for free. The efforts of the pantry have spread far and wide, and these days Sizemore is always at the head of the pack working to end childhood hunger in Monongalia County. He chalks it up to a Ronald Reagan quote he heard once: “You can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.” Sizemore says he’s just trying to do his part to make Mon County the kind of community he knows it can be.
