Melissa Powers is a native of Morgantown, an alumna of WVU, and the leader at the helm of the Best Accounting Office in Morgantown, according to BOM voters this year. Melissa Powers CPA and Associates grew out of a side business that Powers kept for more than a decade while working as an accountant for the university. Eventually, the demand for her services grew to a level that she was able to start her own firm in 2019 and hire staff to help.
Powers says her all-female team focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and developing long-term, lasting professional relationships with their clients. “Not only do we offer core accounting, payroll, and tax services,” Powers says, “but we also work with each of our clients to understand their unique business needs and collaborate to develop customized approaches rooted in sound accounting principles and tax law.”
