Udderly Good Times

Pick dahlias, sample bison meat, and pet a miniature horse during July’s Mountaineer Country and Preston County farm crawls.

Family farms are flourishing, and you can get a taste at two farm crawls this month. Check out the Preston County Farm Crawl this coming weekend, July 11–12. If you miss it, or if it just makes you hungry for more, put the July 25 Mountaineer Country Farm Crawl on your calendar, too.

Whether you’re there to learn about the latest in sustainable agriculture or to personally thank the goat responsible for your favorite bar soap, these farms welcome you with open arms and big plans.

Pro tip: Plan your route in advance by visiting the websites or by downloading the Visit Mountaineer Country CVB app—it has information for both farm crawls—and checking “itineraries” to get locations, maps, and more.

Here’s just some of what’s available at each farm.
