Scorers Sports Bar and Restaurant

With locations in Sabraton and Westover and a loyal following, Scorers is the kind of bar where the welcome is warm, the beer is cold, and somebody’s always watching the game. Add wings, burgers, and plenty of screens, and you’ve got a go-to evening out.

No. 3

Mundy’s Place

For nearly 80 years, Mundy’s has been First Ward’s local hangout—an unpretentious place where the tap list has something for everyone, the food is a step above a pub menu, and the vibe makes you feel at home the moment you walk in the door.

No. 2

Mario’s Fishbowl

Photographed by Carla Witt Ford

A Morgantown institution since 1969, Mario’s Fishbowl has perfected the neighborhood-bar formula: a fishbowl of beer, legendary wings, and lots of familiar faces. Whether you’re meeting up on Richwood Avenue or in Evansdale, it always feels like your spot.

No. 1

Gene’s Beer Garden

Photographed by Abby Bowman

We challenge you to sit at the bar at Gene’s Beer Garden and not end up in a surprising conversation. As far as we know, it’s never been done. BOM Best Neighborhood Bar for the past four years and a true Morgantown classic, Gene’s is welcoming and wonderfully unfussy—the kind of neighborhood bar that feels like it’s always been there.
