Five Places to Get Your Drive-In Fix

Get groovy with a drive-in movie this summer. Here are five of our favorite big, big screens near Morgantown.

At Skyview Drive-In in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania (40m), enjoy a great movie under the stars. Skyview’s concession stand boasts a lengthy menu, so you won’t go hungry. Be sure to try their mini funnel cakes and state fair mini donuts.

For a vintage vibe—they are celebrating 70 years— visit Sunset Drive-In Theatre in Shinnston (45m). Pack your lawn chairs and a frisbee to throw before the sun goes down.

Enjoy classic cotton candy with your flick at the Brownsville Drive-In in Grindstone, Pennsylvania (45m), and snag a collectable popcorn tub, too. Don’t forget to pack a blanket—you may get chilly as the sun sets. @brownsvilledrivein on Facebook

You’ll make some new friends at the Comet Drive-In in Dunbar, Pennsylvania (50m). The owners recommend shaking the hand of your neighbor parked next to you, so you never know who you may meet. Comet makes their popcorn the old-fashioned way—we can smell it now.

Originally opened in 1947, Evergreen Drive-In in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, has been a great spot for moviegoers ever since (1h). Enjoy a hot dog, cheeseburger, or hot slice of pizza from the snack bar with your movie. Get there early to get a great spot.

No matter which drive-in you choose, you are sure to have a great time. And remember movies are butter at the drive-in.
